Man! Your the only one that understands what would realy happen. Kimbo is a good street fighter however he has never been hit has hard as Tyson would hit him. The devastating power that Tyson has would rock him, once on the chin and Kimbo is done. Now with that said if he gets Tyson on the ground (which he should do if he’s smart) then Tyson could be in trouble, but if they fight straight up and slug it at each other Kimbo’s out in 30 secs!

People…Mike Tyson as a 13 year old boy was knocking out grown men! Tyson as an 18 year old fighting under the guidance of Cus D’mato would not beat Kimbo Slice in a bare handed street fight…no no no….Tyson would f’ing KILL him! not pound on him, I am talking MURDER! Now a days, Tyson has lost his lighting speed, but he still has his power to a degree and the man is and always will be a borderline psychopath! In a regulated MMA match, the edge would certainly go to Kimbo. In a regulated boxing match, the edge still might go to Kimbo. In an unregulated street fight where anything would go….I would put my whole life savings on Mike Tyson, because I think Tyson would just wild out bite kimbo and drink his blood or something crazy like that!

He just fought and beat Tank Abbot. While this wasn’t much of a fight (Tank is 42 and out of shape) it was important as Kimbo symbolically took Tank’s former title as “The Brawler” or “Pit Fighter”.
Is he good? Maybe, maybe not, but he can gather a crowd and makes MMA exciting again. With time and more training who knows?

Tyson is a trained fighter, Kimbo is a recently inducted MMA fighter. Tyson hits as hard if not harder and has a better ability to make Kimbo miss. Tyson has better control, better combo ability. While both are good at their chosen profession, Mike is in a different class than Kimbo and would win for that reason. Keep in mind that Mike lost to a trained fighter, not some mutt that thinks he is a bad ass because he is black and has dreads.

Mike Tyson… arguably the hardest hitting boxer to ever step into the ring Vs one of the baddest brawlers to hit the Octagon since Tank Abbot . Hmmmm.
First it’s a fight that I hope will never happen. Why you ask? Because any sport that inducts the infamous Mike Tyson into its ranks runs the risk of losing its legitimacy. “POINT BLANK” And, I believe that MMA as an industry, as a new sport and as a viable replacement for boxing and every other pugilistic sport in the world has worked to long and hard to blow any of its efforts on one match.
Kimbo, the monster Jamaican in my opinion has everything to lose and nothing to gain from a MMA (Mockery Match) anyway. Let’s start with the injury factor.
There is no doubt that Mike Tyson has the ability to KO fighters but, he has also ruined some very promising careers as well like Jesse Ferguson (Broke Nose), Mitch “Blood” Green (Orbital fracture) Orlin Norris( Knee injury do to punch), Donovan Ruddock (Broken Jaw) just to name a few. While all of these injuries are not permanent it does hinder there careers because of how easy it is to re-injure these areas. Why would Kimbo want to risk his career on one fight; even worse than that a Tyson fight could possibly result in Kimbo losing creditability as a legitimate fighter especially when he has worked this hard to gain respect in the MMA game because whether he wins or loses he will either be remembered as the guy who lost to an old lion that was way past his prime witch boxing enthusiasts every where would swear that boxing is back or the guy who beat up a washed up fighter and dubbed a bully… The same way Tyson was portrayed when he beat up Larry Holmes or when Larry Holmes beat up an over aged Mohamed Ali…either way it doesn’t benefit Kimbo to fight Tyson.
But, if I have to pick a winner I would still have to go with Tyson and for those of you that think differently I would like to remind all the Kimbo lovers that Iron Mike Tyson won his first 19 professional bouts by knockout, 12 in the first round and those fights where against trained professional fighters with chins that where forged in the fires of the fight game and at that time he was wearing 12 once gloves and not MMA gloves which are little more than bag gloves with the fingers cutout which means, at least to me, that a knock out would be eminent.
Remember, the 5 ft 11 Monster has only lost to taller fighters with a greater reach than 76 in and a faster back peddle like the 6 ft 2 in Evander Holyfield, 6ft 3in Henry Tillman, 6 ft 4 “Buster” Douglas and the 6 ft 5 in freak of nature Lenox ” Only Fight from a Distance ” Lewis. Both fighters called “out-fighters” use distance as apposed to power to win fights with Tyson but the 6 ft 2 in Kimbo although decidedly taller is a Brawler which plays into the Tyson game plan. Kimbo would have to learn how to jab Mike Tyson from the outside and tie him up on the inside. Many have tried and few have succeeded.
Kimbo’s best chance to beat Mike Tyson would be on the ground which means that Kimbo would have to risk the clinch or the shoot, both very bad ideas when fighting the much shorter X-Champ. Tyson’s crouching style would make the clinch (double under hooks) very hard to achieve especially the Muy Tai clinch which leaves the body open and we all know what happened to Michael Spinx after getting hit in the body buy Mike Tyson.
The clinch: The clinch game for Kimbo in this case would become more of a bear hug; trapping both arms to the body then trying to trap the leg for a take down. This should neutralize the fighters inside game and make it so that Kimbo could take Tyson down safely.
The shoot, would quite frankly be the dumbest thing a person could do because of the explosive power in Mikes trade mark upper cuts poses to be the best defense against this offense. Also the crouching style he uses makes the shoot harder to get because the center of gravity is lower which gives Tyson a very strong base similar to a horse stance found in more traditional martial arts. Also he has a very wide base which means it will be very hard for Kimbo to bring both legs together for the take down.
Single Leg: It would appear as though Kimbo would have to go for the single leg take down in order to stay out of Mikes range. I would focus on the left leg so that Mike would have to reach with that big right hand. While Kimbo would be at risk of getting hit with a Mike Tyson Hook or Upper Cut at least it would be from the left hand.
Note; While this is a hypothetical situation lets not forget that if Mike where to fight Kimbo he would be training MMA and would learn at least the basics of take down defense, submission defense, take downs and ground and pounded… and lets pray that a Tyson fight never results in a full mount where Tyson can rain down punches on Kimbo.
